Brooklyn Nets. 2.. Eastern Conference. Atlantic. player. 147. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Cousins to the Brooklyn Nets sounds like a move you would make on the “NBA 2K” video game. But the Nets have taken the video game logic into real life.

The Nets are witnessing their first full season of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving as teammates after the two signed with the team in the summer of 2019. Even though Brooklyn has two of the biggest stars in the NBA, they decided why not have three? So, they called the Rockets and acquired disgruntled guard James Harden in a massive four-team trade also including the Cavaliers and the Indiana Pacers. While the team did add a future Hall of Famer, they also depleted their big men on the roster.

In said trade, the Nets traded Jarrett Allen to the Cavaliers. While Allen came off the bench for DeAndre Jordan, he was a solid rebounder and blocker inside the paint for Brooklyn. In his 12 games with the Nets, Allen averaged 11.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. Allen has left quite the impression on the Cavaliers, as they are on board with him as their future center and are ready to part ways with Drummond.

With the center position an obvious weakness for the Nets, it does makes sense to bring in Cousins to contend for an NBA title. Also, it does serve as a reunion with Cousins and Durant, who were on the Golden State Warriors for the 2018-19 season.
