Notre Dame football: Potential landing spots for Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah in 2021 NFL Draft
By Dante Pryor
Owusu-Koramoah and Jaylon Smith would make a terrific combination for the Cowboys
The tenth overall pick might seem a bit high for Owusu-Koramoah, but Dallas needs to upgrade their linebackers. Leighton Vander Esch is injury-prone and Sean Lee is 34. Jaylon Smith underperformed last season. Dallas might have more pressing needs, but this draft is deep with defensive linemen and defensive backs.
Owusu-Koramoah makes sense for Dallas at the tenth pick, giving the Cowboys a day-one starter that does not need much development. The Notre Dame standout makes a great pairing with the athletic Smith as well. Owusu-Koramoah’s versatility gives Dallas an element they do not have at linebacker.
Linebacker is a primary need for the Raiders
One thing the Raiders love are players from big-time football programs. Owusu-Koramoah fits that description. This range, 17-20, is the most feasible range for the linebacker from Virginia to go. Linebacker is a pressing need for the Raiders, especially if they do not re-sign Raekwon McMillian or Vic Beasley.
Owusu-Koramoah is an excellent fit for a team looking up at the Kansas City Chiefs. If you are going to beat Kansas City, there are two things you have to be able to do. First, you have to be able to cover. Second, you have to be able to run. Owusu-Koramoa has the ability to do both. A player like Koramoah is able to cover Travis Kelce or Clyde Edwards-Helaire coming out of the backfield.
The athleticism and physicality that Owusu-Koramoah makes him an excellent fit for the Raiders.
