3. player. 52. Pick Analysis. . Jacksonville Jaguars . AFC South . Scouting Report

Everyone already knows the Jaguars will be spenders this offseason. Does that mean they’ll be good? Jacksonville might be the biggest boom-or-bust storyline if they take Trevor Lawrence No. 1 overall and spend money like crazy with the most cap space of any team.

After finishing last season with the 22nd-ranked offensive line in the league, expect significant resources to be used in fortifying the line for Lawrence’s future. Cam Robinson is up for a new contract and the team might not want to pay top dollar for an average tackle.

Enter Williams, enter elite conversation.

Brandon Linder is among the premier centers in the NFL, shining up the middle with a strong pass protection grade at PFF. Andrew Norwell remains one of the top interior linemen after another season of strong production in the trenches. However, adding Williams next to Norwell would give the Jaguars perhaps the best left side of an offensive line in the AFC, if not the NFL.

Jacksonville has money. They have upside. Best of all, they are trying to win. If Urban Meyer can convince the players to buy into his system, he should be able to convince Williams there’s potential the rebuild is a short-term plan.
