DeAndre Hopkins laughs at Texans for releasing Duke Johnson
By John Buhler
DeAndre Hopkins saw the Houston Texans released Duke Johnson Friday and laughed at them.
When the Houston Texans parted ways with running back Duke Johnson on Friday, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins noticed the transaction and trolled his former team on Twitter.
Hopkins was dealt by the Texans to the Cardinals almost a year ago. He went to Arizona for essentially running back David Johnson and a second-round pick. Hopkins quote tweeted a graphic the Cardinals’ account sent out on Feb. 21 highlighting his great first season in the Valley of the Sun. 115 catches for 1,407 yards and six touchdowns are worth more than a second-round pick.

DeAndre Hopkins laughing at the Houston Texans’ dysfunction is amazing
With this quote tweet, Hopkins embodied the Michael Jordan laughing hysterically while holding an iPad in The Last Dance meme. Jordan may have had no problem with The Glove, but Houston is an organization chock full of problems. Hopkins is in Phoenix, defensive end J.J. Watt is not coming back and quarterback Deshaun Watson wants out of Houston more than James Harden ever did.
While Hopkins and the Cardinals will push for playoff positioning in 2021, Houston is not expected to finish better than third in the AFC South. Johnson being released by the Texans was the epitome of a Friday news dump. However, Hopkins magnified it tremendously by being exceptionally petty and being 100 percent right. Few organizations burn bridges like the Texans do these days.
Hopkins wants us to never forget that he was worth more than a future second-round pick.
