3. Jacksonville Jaguars

When it comes to the Jacksonville Jaguars and available players this offseason, the question that will be asked is, “who aren’t the Jaguars interested in?”. The worst team in the NFL in 2020 with a 1-15 record, the organization hopes to turn to a new unmarked page with the first-overall pick and Urban Meyer as head coach.

In terms of dollars, management will have around $79 million; currently, the most in the NFL, to throw around to try and make this roster stronger.

Of course, when you are unfortunate enough to finish with the worst record in the league, that indicates there’s a lot of areas that need to be upgraded. So, fittingly, why not start by adding a mid-20’s linemen who had 11.5 sacks last season?

Jacksonville allowed the second-most points scored in 2020 with 492. Only the Detriot Lions were worse. The defense’s 18 sacks were second to last and this unit had the third-fewest (tied with MIN) pressures with 116. Dawuane Smoot led the club with 5.5 sacks.

Williams would obviously become the team’s best linemen and he would provide strength at a key spot on the line. He can also possibly fight double-teams, which would free up more one-on-ones for players like edge rusher Josh Allen.

No, Williams does not fix the team’s defensive struggles on his own. When you see the likes of Calais Campbell and Jalen Ramsey hit the exit, you know you will be looking to rebuild for a couple of seasons. In this case, and at his age, Williams would be a solid steppingstone signing.
