2021 NFL Draft: Atlanta Falcons 7-round mock
The Falcons need for more playmakers extends to the back line of their defense. Landing Deablo in Round 5 would give Atlanta’s secondary a thumper to intimidate opposing wide receivers.
He’s not ever going to be a great coverage guy, but his above-average size for the position covers up some of his limitations in space. What Deablo is at the next level is a guy with the potential to force turnovers. His nose for the football jumps out on his collegiate tape.
He might ultimately have to move to linebacker to really stand out, but Deablo is a good bet to carve out a long NFL career due to his raw talent.
Wide receiver doesn’t jump out as a position of need for the Falcons, but a playmaker like Smith will be too tempting for Arthur Smith to pass on in Round 6. Smith doesn’t have the size to thrive on the outside, but his skills with the ball in his hands make him an excellent option in the slot.
Smith may not be an elite route-runner, but that doesn’t stop him from generating solid separation against all manners of cornerbacks. He can be an absolute steal for the Falcons in Round 6.
