The son of former Packers DT Ron Kostelnik lost a Super Bowl ring at a gas station.

A freak accident has left the Kostelnik family without a familiar relic that’s been passed down for generations.

Mike Kostelnik, the son of the Packer great, claims the ring was lost somewhere in between Bloomington, IN and Miami, OH. While making that trip, he and his youngest daughter, Olivia, only stopped at a gas station on the way.

“We don’t know what happened to the ring,” Mike told the Green Bay Press Gazette. “When we got to Miami, it was gone. I had taken it off my finger. When you wear that ring, it’s heavy. If your fingers are swollen in the morning, it’s a little hard to carry. So, I know I put it in the console (of the car). My daughter and I just don’t know what happened to it.”

The Kostelnik family is offering a $5,000 reward for a safe return of the Super Bowl ring

Ron Kostelnik won the ring in Super Bowl II, but according to his son, it’s come to symbolize the bond between he and his father, and much of what they accomplished after his playing days.

“It’s the ring my father wore,” Mike said. “A lot of things he went through in life after football were in that ring. It’s a ring that I wore during the times I was building my business. So, it’s all of the energy and the issues that appear that are in that ring. I felt like it gave me a lot of strength in some very trying times.”

In all, Kostelnik won five championships and two Super Bowls, with his Super Bowl I ring going to his daughter. If you have any information on the whereabouts of said ring, please contact Chris Nerat at packerexpert@gmail.com.
