CB. player. Arizona Cardinals. Patrick Peterson. 1.. 32. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The Chiefs are a team where they can convince a veteran to join them on the cheap to chase a Super Bowl ring. One player the Chiefs should consider targeting this offseason is Arizona Cardinals corner Patrick Peterson.

The veteran is an eight-time Pro Bowler and a three-time First Team All-Pro, but is experiencing a bit of a decline in production. Just last season, Peterson surrendered 53 receptions for 662 yards and five touchdowns on 79 targets, per Pro Football Reference. While those numbers look rather bleak, Peterson did manage to snag three interceptions last year.

Kansas City does have an opening in the starting lineup, as Bashaud Breeland is set to hit free agency officially on March 17. Considering they fell to the Buccaneers and their star-studded offense, the Chiefs should consider bringing in a star of their own on the defensive side of the ball.

While there is always the possibility that the Cardinals could convince Peterson to stay after the signing of former Houston Texans defensive end and three-time Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt, the corner stands a better chance of contending for the Super Bowl in Kansas City.
