New York Jets mock draft – Third Round

Scouting Report. 66. player. 30. Pick Analysis. CB. South Carolina. Israel Mukuamu

Another area on the Jets’ defense in need of improvement is the cornerback room. The Jets have spent draft picks on guys like Bryce Hall and Bless Austin over the past few years but Mukuamu is a significant investment to add a potential future starter to the mix.

Mukuamu has the prototypical size and length you want out of a corner with the ability to be a physical presence near the line of scrimmage. Douglas is known to value elite physical traits in players and Mukuamu certainly fits the bill.

RB. Oklahoma State. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Chuma Hubbard. 87. 30

The second pick that the Jets get from the Jamal Adams trade is used to land Hubbard, who we also mocked to New York in their last draft. New York has a few interesting pieces in the backfield with Ty Johnson and La’Mical Perine but adding Hubbard to the mix here would be a big score for the offense.

Hubbard is a patient runner who can hit the hole with top-end speed, making him a true home-run threat for a Jets’ offense that hasn’t had one in a while. The Jets could also utilize Hubbard as a pass-catcher out of the backfield, adding another dimension to their offense that didn’t exist in 2020.
