Ja’Marr Chase 2021 NFL Draft landing spot No. 4: Detroit Lions

Suffice it to say that the Detroit Lions offense is going to look drastically different in 2021 than it did this past season. The Matthew Stafford trade means a change at quarterback is coming, whether that means Jared Goff will be the starter or they take another signal-caller with the No. 7 overall pick.

Beyond quarterback, though, the Lions are also set to experience a ton of turnover at wide receiver. Both Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr. are set to be free agents this offseason and, even with the addition of Tyrell Williams, that leaves big holes to fill among pass-catchers.

Though getting the man under center decided will be key, putting that player in the best spot possible is also a must. Adding Chase to the fold would accomplish that, providing the offense with a young wideout who has the potential to be a top-tier player in the league at the position.

Ja’Marr Chase 2021 NFL Draft landing spot No. 3: Cincinnati Bengals

In an ideal world, the Cincinnati Bengals will be able to get Oregon offensive tackle Penei Sewell with the No. 5 overall pick. The offensive line was a dumpster fire last season and the argument could be made that the constant barrage of pressure helped lead to Joe Burrow’s season-ending ACL injury.

However, there’s at least a reasonable chance that Sewell is off the board when the Bengals come on the clock, which would change things. There’s not another offensive lineman worth taking at No. 6, which could then open the door to pairing Chase and Burrow together once again.

Wide receiver isn’t the biggest need for Cincinnati as they have Tyler Boyd in the fold and Tee Higgins showed real promise as a rookie. That said, they could give their young quarterback a bevy of quality options in the passing game and open up more possibilities for the offense if they were to add Chase to the mix as well, especially with the rapport he and Burrow already have.
