Bills mock draft, Aaron Robinson

3. Aaron Robinson

Robinson played most of his snaps in the slot for UCF last season, but that shouldn’t concern teams that want to transition him to the outside. The way the Golden Knights scheme asked him to hold up in man coverage bodes well for his versatility at the next level.

The Bills project to have a need at corner if Josh Norman departs via free agency. The veteran wasn’t really that good in coverage for the team last season. Finding a playmaker in the secondary should be a priority for Buffalo this offseason no matter what.

Robinson is one of several corners who figure to go off the board towards the end of Round 1. His inconsistency as a tackler might allow him to fall all the way down to No. 30. If he’s on the board for the Bills it will be difficult for them to pass up his intriguing skillset.

Fans should not overlook Robinson’s scheme versatility as a quality that might help him differentiate himself from some of his peers. He was equally good in zone and coverage for UCF last season. Being a well-rounded cover corner might land him in Buffalo in 2021.
