Packers need to open the checkbook for Will Fuller
With the Green Bay Packers hoping to make a splash this offseason, signing wide receiver Will Fuller would most definitely send a message to the rest of the NFL.
Once again throughout the 2020 campaign, it was made perfectly clear that Aaron Rodgers needs some more receiver options to help him send the Green Bay Packers over the top. Too many times last season we saw Rodgers shaking his head in frustration after a dropped ball.
So, will general manager Brain Gutekunst be ready to deliver for the future Hall-of-Fame signal-caller? If Gutekunst does want to make his quarterback happy, picking up the phone and going after Will Fuller this offseason would be a wise thing to do.
The Green Bay Packers should no question make a move to try and sign Will Fuller
According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans won’t be using the franchise tag on Fuller this offseason and he’ll be free to ink with a new team. So, why not the Packers? Fuller had been linked with Green Bay prior to the trade deadline, but nothing ever went down.
Now, Fuller is about to enter free agency and the Packers could make quite the pitch to him: come catch balls from one of the best quarterbacks to ever suit up in the league.
While adding Fuller would be one thing, it’d no question fire up Rodgers. After the loss to Tampa Bay in the NFC Championship Game, you could tell just how upset the veteran was. He made it seem like he wasn’t even sure if he wanted to return to Lambeau Field in 2021.
However, Rodgers looks all set to get back on the field with the Packers and chase his Super Bowl dreams once again next season. Adding a player of Fuller’s caliber would go a long way in helping the Packers get back in a position to bring home the Lombardi Trophy.
