Pittsburgh Steelers. Joe Haden. 1.. player. 55. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. CB

Joe Haden is all too familiar with this situation. Back in 2017, Haden was shown the door by the Cleveland Browns after he opted against taking a pay cut. That allowed the Steelers to swoop in and sign Haden to a deal. He even earned a contract extension prior to the 2019 season.

Haden is entering the final year of his contract and is set to carry a $15.6 million cap hit. Considering Haden is 31-years-old, the Steelers could opt to get younger at the position to free up $7 million in cap space.

This past season, Haden tallied 52 total tackles, 12 passes defended, two interceptions and one defensive touchdown. In coverage, Haden surrendered 40 receptions for 559 yards and two touchdowns on 79 targets, per Pro Football Reference.

While Haden did clap back at talk of him being a cap casualty this offseason, this offseason is expected. to be filled with surprising cuts. We saw that this week when the Miami Dolphins announced their intention of moving on from linebacker Kyle Van Noy a year after signing him to a $51 million contract. Another shocking move was the Las Vegas Raiders releasing offensive guard Gabe Jackson.

Nothing is off the table.
