Jackson hitting the free agency pool is a surprise after the Titans opted to cut him in a cost-cutting move. No one in the NFL should expect him to remain unemployed for very long.

Missing the entire 2020 season due to injury will prompt teams to take a long look at his medical records, but if they check out he’s going to enjoy a brisk market. Coverage guys of his quality just don’t hit the open market very often.

The fact that Jackson is still just 25-years-old should position him to cash in with a big deal. He may not be an absolute superstar, but he’s a quality No. 1 option for quite a few teams around the league. Signing him to a long-term deal at a relatively big number could turn into shrewd business for a team willing to bet on future salary cap inflation.

It’s possible Tennessee knows something about Jackson’s medicals that the rest of the league doesn’t, but if they don’t it’s going to turn into a potentially game-changing opportunity for defenses who are one defensive back away from completion. Jackson might be the best corner in this year’s free agent class.
