Lakers fans will love Andre Drummond’s first tweet after joining team

New Los Angeles Lakers center Andre Drummond is thrilled to join a championship contender.
Drummond’s time as a Detroit Piston and Cleveland Cavalier brought with it plenty of personal accolades, but not in the way of postseason success. In fact, Drummond has yet to win a playoff series in his nine-year career. Still just 27 years old, he has plenty to add as a secondary or tertiary scorer for an NBA Title-winning team, should things pan out for him.
In that sense, the Lakers need Drummond desperately. Without LeBron James and Anthony Davis due to injury for the time bring, the shorthanded Lakers are running out a lineup that leaves much to be desired. Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell and KCP can only do so much.
Drummond is just thrilled for the opportunity.

What does Andre Drummond bring to the Los Angeles Lakers?
At his peak, Drummond was a rebounding force and a walking double-double. He can still do that when receiving ample playing time as the Lakers await the return of Davis first and foremost. Drummond leaves plenty to be desired on the defensive end of the floor, but he can protect the rim in modest circumstances, and that eye for the glass hasn’t waned much over the years.
“Andre Drummond gives us powerful, anchor-point skills on both ends of the court,” Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka said in a statement. “We feel extremely fortunate to add a player of his caliber and magnitude to our core group at this stage of our journey to defend the NBA title.”
Los Angeles had to make a move to keep up with the Brooklyn Nets out East, especially since they’ve added Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge to go with their championship-caliber core. For LA’s sake, hopefully Drummond can serve as that.
