Broncos bold predictions, Melvin Gordon

4. Melvin Gordon will rush for 1,200+ yards

The Broncos are paying Gordon too much money, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a productive player. They need their starting running back to perform like a legitimate Pro Bowler in 2021 to give Lock the support he needs to succeed.

Gordon was reasonably effective for Denver’s offense last season despite its lack of balance. Some modest improvement to the team’s aerial attack should make life much easier for the veteran.

That’s going to allow Gordon to push his rushing total from last year’s mark of 986 all the way past the 1,200-yard plateau. He averaged 4.6 yards per carry last season but he has the talent to push that mark over 5-yards per tote next year.

That should be enough to make Gordon a very attractive option for Fantasy owners. He won’t lead the league in rushing, but he’s going to be solid bet to rack up 100 yards every time he takes the field. He should emerge as Lock’s best friend if he stays healthy.
