3. A rookie will lead Eagles’ wide receivers in catches

Reagor’s production should increase sharply in 2021, but that doesn’t mean he’ll become Hurts’ favorite wide receiver. Philadelphia desperately needs to find an ultra-reliable target for their young signal-caller early in April’s draft.

It might be hard to find that caliber of player at No. 12, but someone like Jaylen Waddle could slip to Philadelphia at that spot. It’s also conceivable that Philadelphia could trade further back in Round 1 with an eye on an underrated prospect like Rashod Bateman.

It’s important to note that this prediction only states that a rookie wideout will lead that specific position group in catches. It’s very likely that a tight end will lead the team in catches overall. Zach Ertz almost certainly won’t be on the roster next year, but Dallas Goedert could be in line for a ton of targets in his stead.

The Eagles won’t have any wideout capable of catching more than 80 or so passes next year. That makes them fertile ground for a rookie looking to carve out a big role. In some ways, it’s in the Eagles’ best interest to see this prediction come true.
