1. Trade back to nab Tutu Atwell and Eric Stokes

Wide receiver and cornerback are established needs for the Packers heading into the draft. The most prudent course of action for their front office might just be trading back in an effort to land multiple immediate starters in Round 2.

The Packers currently have No. 62 which is towards the bottom of the second round. That might not be high enough to land either Atwell or Stokes. Offloading their first rounder for a pair of seconds could be the way to maximize Green Bay’s draft capital.

Atwell isn’t going to thrive on the outside for the Packers the way Bateman can, but he can give them a massive boost in the slot. The former Louisville star has the ability to turn short throws from Rodgers into long touchdowns with his ability to produce yards after the catch. Adding Atwell could drastically reduce the degree of difficulty for Rodgers in the passing game next year.

Stokes isn’t in the same class of prospect as the aforementioned cornerback Horn, but he has the tools required to grow into a solid starter. He showed signs of being a real ballhawk at Georgia and the Packers’ defense could really benefit from his ability to produce turnovers.

Trading down might not be an exciting prospect for Packers fans, but it could represent the best outcome for Green Bay during this year’s draft. Significant value can certainly be found outside Round 1.
