2. Stay put and draft Rashod Bateman

Packers fans may riot if their favorite team doesn’t draft a wide receiver to help Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams this season. Fortunately for Green Bay, this is another stellar class of pass catchers.

The best course of action for the Packers might just be to wait and see what wide receiver prospect falls to them at No. 29. If Bateman falls that far in Round 1 then Green Bay should rush to take him. He’s just the sort of fluid, outside receiver that can thrive opposite Adams in Matt LaFleur’s offense.

There should be some concern inside Green Bay’s front office about whether or not Bateman will fall all the way down to 29. He doesn’t have the elite athletic traits as some of his peers in this year’s draft class, but he could be this year’s version of Justin Jefferson in terms of a receiver who falls outside the top-10 and turns into an immediate star.

It will be a major surprise if the Packers don’t spend one of their early draft picks on a new starting wide receiver. Landing Bateman late in Round 1 could be the best-case scenario for Green Bay on Night One.
