Pick Analysis. AFC North. . Pittsburgh Steelers. 3. player. Scouting Report. 55

After having the league’s worst rushing offense last year, the Steelers are honing in on taking a running back early in the draft. But even if they take Najee Harris or Travis Etienne in the first round, it’s not as if Benny Snell, Anthony McFarland or Kalen Ballage should be guaranteed a role as a backup. Or even, possibly, a roster spot.

In what could be Ben Roethlisberger’s final season, with them or for his career, the Steelers have to be all-in this year. Peterson, if he’s willing to accept a backup role, could be a valuable veteran mentor to a rookie running back. Look who Harris has been working out with…

Yes, that’s Peterson helping Harris prepare for the NFL.

NFC West. . Seattle Seahawks. 2. 36. Pick Analysis. player. Scouting Report

The range of outcomes seems wide in Seattle this year, as Russell Wilson was open with his issues this offseason and a “him or me” proposition with head coach Pete Carroll lingers below the surface.

Chris Carson is back as the Seahawks’ lead back. But behind him is an injury question mark (Rashaad Penny), and a mostly unproven player in DeeJay Dallas. Even a past his prime Peterson can be helpful.

The Seahawks fit what Peterson spoke to this week–with a good quarterback, a solid defense and playmakers. And they are, to some degree, a Super Bowl contender every year for as long as Wilson is the quarterback.

This one is obvious. For anyone that wants to win a ring, the Chiefs are the No. 1 spot until further notice. And with Damien Williams gone to the Chicago Bears in free agency, they could probably use another running back behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

Peterson’s aforementioned criteria fits Kansas City more than anywhere else. Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in the league, leading an offense filled with weapons and the Chiefs’ defense is good.

After passing on Peterson when he became available late in the preseason, the Chiefs went the older running back route by signing Le’Veon Bell last season. Circling back to Peterson in the coming weeks to try to work out a deal seems likely.
