2. Third baseman Eduardo Escobar

Another player who could end up leaving Wrigley Field next year is star third baseman Kris Bryant. For a while now, Bryant has been mentioned in countless trade rumors, with a move to the Atlanta Braves being mentioned more than once. What will end up happening with him next year?

The wide expectation is that he’s going to end up suiting up for a new team once spring training rolls around. That would mean the Cubs would of course have to find a new player to man the hot corner with Bryant gone.

Someone of interest would no question be third baseman Eduardo Escobar. Currently on the Arizona Diamondbacks, the 32-year-old is hitting .250 this season with 15 hits in 60 at-bats. He’s another guy who’s known for his tremendous work with his glove on the corner. He’d also be a much cheaper option than breaking the bank for Bryant to return to the team.
