No. 10 and 9

. (9-8). Previous: 4th. New York Mets. 10. team. 3

The New York Mets will enter the new week in sole possession of first place in the NL East, as they are getting a stunning season from ace Jacob deGrom. This guy actually has 50 strikeouts in 29 innings, to go along with a 0.31 earned run average, displaying why there is deGrom, and then every other pitcher in baseball after him.

Overall, the Mets are also getting tremendous work from Marcus Stroman on the hill, while Brandon Nimmo is mashing to the tune of a .370 batting average. The Polar Bear, Pete Alonso leads the team in home runs and runs batted in, and they are fresh off a week that saw them shut out Washington twice, but get swept on the road against the Chicago Cubs.

Previous: 14th. Milwaukee Brewers. 9. team. 76. . (13-8)

The Milwaukee Brewers are the class of the NL Central right now, as they have a two-game lead heading into this upcoming week. The Brew Crew have won five of their last six games, including taking two of three on the road against division rival Chicago, and they are doing all of this despite the team hitting below .210 as a unit.

On the hill, the combination of Brandon Woodruff and Corbin Burnes has been outstanding, leading a pitching staff that is keeping them in games. Burnes has been out of this world, racking up 40 strikeouts in 24.1 innings pitched, while also posting a 0.37 earned run average. As a staff, four of five starters have ERAs under 4.00.
