Cleveland Browns choice No. 2: Jaelon Darden, North Texas

If the Browns want a receiver who can run (and they do), they won’t have to look further than Jaelon Darden. His game is all about the need for speed and he’s arguably one of the most explosive players in this year’s draft.

The four-year starter for North Texas had 1,190 yards last year in only nine games with 19 touchdowns.

So much of Darden’s game relies on his pace coupled with incredible agility and balance. He’s the kind of player who can either sprint in a blazing straight line or fake out defenders as he twists and turns his way down the field. A First-Team Conference-USA performer in 2019 and 2020, the ever-so-shifty Darden has a history of terrifying defenders, and under the right circumstances, could be molded into an unstoppable deep threat.

For the Browns, specifically, Darden could fit any number of options: put him out wide and watch him burn opponents with his speed, or play him as a deep threat and his nimble hands will do the talking (or rather, the catching).

Given the number of receivers in this draft class, Darden will be available without spending a first or second round pick.
