Cleveland Browns choice No.3: Elijah Moore, Ole Miss

Elijah Moore has been flying up draft boards.

The 5-foot-9 Moore would fit in perfectly in the slot. He’s crafty enough to create space for himself in a crowd of defenders and even though he’s on the smaller side, he’s fast enough to make up for it. At the Ole Miss pro day, he ran a 4.32 40-yard dash and a 6.65 three-cone shuttle, which is the fastest of any wide receiver since 2018.

In eight games for Ole Miss, Moore caught 86 passes for 1,193 yards and recorded eight touchdowns. Only Heisman winner, DeVonta Smith, had more receptions and yards than Moore, but Moore had more catches and yards per game than Smith.

Tactically, the Browns could use Moore to their advantage when they play tight end heavy lineups: Moore can sit wide off the line of scrimmage, allowing Cleveland to motion him to create successful matchups.

All Cleveland has to do is get him the ball, put him in situations that maximize his attributes, and Moore will be well on his way to becoming a top-caliber receiver. Out of all the options, Moore might be one of the most well-prepared and polished threats given what he’s done so far on the field.
