Kansas City Chiefs players are really trying to get wide receiver Dede Westbrook on their team.
One team who could be in the mix to sign former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook in free agency are the Kansas City Chiefs.
After four years in Duval, the 2016 Biletnikoff winner from Oklahoma looks to be heading elsewhere in his extended NFL free agency. NFL insider Josina Anderson reports some Chiefs players are trying to recruit Westbrook to Kansas City. Two other teams who have interest in adding Westbrook to their receiving corps are the Cincinnati Bengals and the Minnesota Vikings.
Will Westbrook be heading to the Bengals, the Chiefs or the Vikings later this summer?
Over the weekend some #Chiefs players reached out to free agent WR Dede Westbrook to engage his interest in coming to Kansas City. Meanwhile, both the #Vikings & the #Bengals have had preliminary conversations with Westbrook as well. Westbrook was a 2016 Biletnikoff award winner.

Kansas City Chiefs: The interest in WR Dede Westbrook is a very real thing
With a coaching regime change in Jacksonville, it does not feel like a return to the Jaguars is in the cards for Westbrook. As for if he could link up with the Bengals, Chiefs or Vikings for 2021, Kansas City would have to be at the top of this list for this simple reason: He is exactly the type of wide receiver the Chiefs could be looking to add to their receiving corps to replace Sammy Watkins.
The Chiefs may have drafted former Clemson standout Cornell Powell in the fifth round, but he cannot replace Watkins all on his own. Westbrook built a reputation as a burner for the Sooners in college by catching on deep ball after another from 2017 Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield. If Westbrook arrives in Kansas City as the No. 3 receiving option, they could win the AFC yet again.
Keep an eye on where Westbrook will sign this summer, whether that is Kansas City or elsewhere.
