4. LA has a younger, feistier squad this year

With the recent additions of 27-year-olds Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell, the Lakers have added much-needed youth to an otherwise veteran squad. Los Angeles currently has the oldest team in the league with an average age of 29.35 years, and though Schroder and Harrell aren’t exactly rookies, their stamina and fresh legs will carry the Lakers until the final seconds of games.

In the offseason, the Lakers offloaded Rajon Rondo, Avery Bradley, JaVale McGee and a number of other aging once-greats to add new faces and balance out the Yoda-like experience of LeBron. One young padawan, Kyle Kuzma, hasn’t been firing well as of late, and his streaky performances might make him less dependable in the postseason.

Still, by adding youth to their depth chart, the Lakers are thinking ahead and setting themselves up for success. All LeBron and AD need to do is hold the reins and guide the “greener” players in the right direction.
