The Pittsburgh Pirates’ left-hander was signed on a one-year contract with the hope that he could be an even more valuable trade asset in the summer. The Braves need a pitcher. The Pirates have one to sell. Could this be the easiest trade ever?

In his last seven games, Anderson has recorded a 3.05 ERA, and one of the reasons he’s become one of Pittsburgh’s top pitchers is his above-average batted ball rates. In Sunday’s win against the Chicago Cubs, Anderson limited the Cubs to just two earned runs in eight innings, striking out six while allowing four hits and a walk.

While current rotation pitchers Huascar Ynoa and Ian Anderson look the most solid in Atlanta’s bullpen, the Braves desperately need an arm they can count on, and Anderson could fill in the innings that Soroka left behind. At the end of the day, he’s a low-cost pitcher ready to be sold on the trade market who will get the swings and misses that Atlanta needs in tight innings.
