The Green Bay Packersā 2021 schedule would be a lot easier with Aaron Rodgers at the helm.
For their sake, we can only hope thatās the reality. Rodgers and the Packers feud has turned public, with the former even trying to force a trade out of town. The idea of Rodgers in something other than Packers colors is blinding to the eye, but becoming more of a reality as Green Bay refuses to acknowledge any wrongdoing.
The Packers are in between a rock and a hard place, and they did it to themselves by drafting Jordan Love in the first round in 2020. If Love is forced under center before heās ready, it could ruin the Packersā chances in 2021 and limit the Utah State productās potential long-term. Thatās why having Rodgers is so critical ā not just for a Super Bowl run in 2020, but for continuing to develop Love at a respectable pace.
Not everyone needs the so-called Patrick Mahomes model, or even the Rodgers model of sitting behind a veteran with a clipboard, but it would appear Loveā¦definitely does. Green Bay thankfully brought back Aaron Jones in the run game and added some help on defense in the draft, so whoever is playing quarterback will have a capable roster at their disposal.
If Rodgers is the leader, however, it gives the Packers are far greater opportunity to succeed in the interim. Matt LaFleurās offense is also built around Rodgers, and any alternative would take months to adjust to.
