2. Waiting until Round 3 to draft a pass-catcher

The Packers’ front office was roasted for failing to draft a wide receiver early in the 2020 NFL Draft. Conventional wisdom believed Brian Gutekunst would correct that error during the 2021 Draft. Instead, Green Bay waited until Round 3 to secure help for Rodgers and Davante Adams.

The decision to land Rodgers in the third is even more questionable since he’s only suited to help Green Bay on the inside. That still leaves Matt LaFleur’s offense in need of quality No. 2 starter to help take pressure off of Adams on the outside.

Landing Elijah Moore late in Round 1 would have given the Packers superior value in comparison to landing Rodgers in the third. Rondale Moore would have been an intriguing option who stayed on the board until the middle of the second round.

Spending a first or second round choice on a talented wide receiver or tight end could have done wonders to upgrade Green Bay’s aerial attack. The organization’s failure to capitalize on the offensive talent available at their disposal continues to perplex.
