3 realistic goals for Boston Celtics in 2021 NBA Playoffs

2. Harness that underdog identity again
As mentioned earlier, the Celtics have not had the greatest luck with injuries throughout the season. They did not have point guard Kemba Walker for the start of the year and saw the likes of Marcus Smart and Payton Pritchard sidelined with ailments of their own. But they suffered their biggest loss this past month in star swingman Jaylen Brown.
Earlier this month, Brown missed some games due to a right ankle sprain. Unfortunately for the Celtics, the news got worse when they found out that Brown suffered a torn ligament in his left wrist, which required season-ending surgery.
With Brown out for the remainder of the campaign, there are not many individuals placing their faith in the Celtics. But that can work in their favor. The Celtics have thrived in the underdog role in the past, so why not do it again in 2021? This team always surprises when the odds are stacked against them. Recapturing that identity fits Boston’s blue-collar mentality perfectly.
