The Boston Celtics won’t have an easy go of things to make it into the NBA Playoffs. But here are three realistic and attainable goals for the Celtics.

The Boston Celtics were one series win away from reaching the NBA Finals last year in the Orlando bubble. This season has been hell for the Celtics, as they had to combat numerous injuries to stay afloat in the Eastern Conference. With the season over, the Celtics are still in position to “officially” make the playoffs.

It’s hard to envision the Celtics making a deep postseason run like they did last year, but there are three attainable goals they can reach in the 2021 NBA Playoffs.

3. Secure a playoff spot

The Celtics did not clinch a playoff berth, as the 6-seed was secured by the Miami Heat. That means Boston will now have to participate in the play-in round to sneak into the postseason. Given they are the “top seed” in the Eastern Conference’s mini-bracket, they have a good shot at doing so.

It is a simple path for the Celtics. If they are to defeat the Washington Wizards, led by Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal, then they officially secure the 7-seed in the East. But if they lose to the Wizards Tuesday night, they’ll have one more shot at making the playoffs. If they defeat the winner of the Indiana Pacers-Charlotte Hornets game, then they will clinch the 8-seed.

The Celtics have two chances at making the playoffs. We like their chances of doing so.
