Johneshwy Fargas lays out for snow cone catch vs. Marlins (Video)

New York Mets outfielder Johneshwy Fargas made a ridiculous snow cone catch during Saturday’s game against the Miami Marlins.
The New York Mets outfield has taken a hit as of late, particularly with the injuries to Michael Conforto and Kevin PIllar. In their absence, rookie Johneshwy Fargas made a statement on Saturday in the form of an impressive defensive play.
In the bottom of the ninth inning against the Miami Marlins, first baseman Jesus Aguilar hit a 95.8-mph fastball from Mets reliever Drew Smith to center field. With the ball about to hit the field, Fargas made a full extension dive to make the snow cone catch to prevent a man from reaching base.

While the Fargas catch will make highlight reels for the next couple of days, things did not end well for the Mets. After a single by Miami third baseman Brian Anderson, outfielder Garrett Cooper launched a two-run home run to center field to give the Marlins the walk-off 3-1 win.
The victory would have been sweet, but Fargas will be receiving plenty of praise for his impressive catch in the outfield.
