1. Philadelphia Eagles

According to Sports Illustrated’s Ed Kracz, the Eagles have interest in Jones. General manager Howie Roseman is not afraid to make big deals, as most recently evidenced by the idea the Eagles could be a suitor for Deshaun Watson.

Cap space is an issue for the Eagles, at least for a few more days. But they’ll gain about $4 million when Alshon Jeffery and Malik Jackson come off the books via post- June 1 cuts. A looming decision on tight end Zach Ertz would clear another $8.5 million, and make enough room to add Jones.

Depending on how Carson Wentz does with the Colts, the Eagles could have three first-round picks in 2022. Their own and the Dolphins’ first-rounder are assured to them. If Wentz plays 75 percent of the snaps for Indianapolis this year (or 70 percent of the snaps with a playoff spot), a second-round pick becomes a first-rounder.

Parting with one of those first-round picks is an easy price to pay if it means getting Jones. He, DeVonta Smith and Jalen Reagor would be a nice-looking trio of wide receivers for Jalen Hurts. The Eagles would also get a fuller evaluation of their young quarterback, knowing they fully equipped his supporting cast.

The Eagles can’t be ruled out of anything as long as Roseman is running the show (with input from owner Jeffrey Lurie?). The timing to trade for Jones, after June 1, just happens to work very nicely for them.
