9. Ohio State

The first on our list who didn’t kill it in the NFL. Troy Smith won the 2006 Heisman Trophy, the Walter Camp and Davey O’Brien awards and was named an All-American. Smith threw for over 5,700 yards while twice leading the Big Ten in passing efficiency while leading once in touchdowns and passing percentage.

J.T. Barrett struggled with injuries during his time in Columbus but overcame them to have an outstanding career. Barrett threw for over 9,400 yards while twice leading the Big Ten in passing touchdowns and efficiency and once in passing percentage. He also won the 2015 National Championship.

Justin Fields was only a Buckeye for two seasons but they were spectacular. Fields threw for over 5,300 yards with 63 touchdowns. He led the Big Ten in three different categories each of his two seasons and was named an All-American in 2019 while finishing third in the Heisman voting that same year.

The Buckeye trio passed for over 20,000 yards with 221 touchdowns, one Heisman Trophy and one National Championship.
