The Green Bay Packers are not budging one bit with Aaron Rodgers’ ongoing trade demands.

Even if reigning NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers wants to be traded, the Green Bay Packers are confident in that he will return to the team this summer and ultimately play for them this fall.

The biggest reason behind why the Packers are so adamant about not trading Rodgers this offseason, according to The Athletic, is they do not think he is completely behind the idea of “never playing for them again”. This would be in line with the notion that his beef with the organization is entirely on the front office, as Rodgers said to Kenny Mayne on ESPN that he is cool with the players and coaches.

With really only front-office issues to mend, this is why the Packers are calling Rodgers’ bluff.

Green Bay Packers are never going to give in to Aaron Rodgers’ trade demands

This all goes back to the notion that the 2021 NFL season will likely be Rodgers’ final season in Green Bay uniform. He has three years left on his deal with the Packers but has a potential out ahead of 2022 NFL free agency. If Rodgers were to retire out of spite this offseason, he would have to repay the money left on his Green Bay deal. It is too pricey for him to walk away now.

Because he will be fined out the wazoo during mandatory minicamp and training camp later this summer, expect Rodgers to return to the Packers to prepare for the upcoming season. With a talented roster that can get to Super Bowl 56 in Los Angeles, why would Rodgers not want to give it one last great season in Green Bay before looking at playing for somebody else in 2022?

Even if Rodgers wants out of Green Bay, the Packers organization holds all the leverage this year.
