Jake Evans put the Montreal Canadiens up 5-3 over the Winnipeg Jets with an empty-net, wrap-around goal near the end of the third period. However, he was flattened by Winnipeg’s Mark Scheifele in the process and had to be stretchered off the ice.

Evans, who was pivotal for the Habs in round one, gave a thumbs-up signal as Canadiens staff transported him off the ice. Use of his hands is a good sign for the 25-year-old.

We’re not sure what Scheifele was thinking. He was issued a five minute major penalty and could face suspension for the dangerous hit.
