Aaron Judge

The Yankees are having a terrible time on offense in 2021. The one exception is Aaron Judge, whose 13 home runs and 30 RBI have been a saving grace for New York.

Imagine the Red Sox outfield with a hitter like Judge in the mix.

J.D. Martinez is the only outfielder with a strong bat and he plays DH most days. Alex Verdugo in left field, Hunter Renfroe in right and Kiké Hernández in center aren’t exactly tearing up the league.

Judge primarily plays right field for New York and he’d be an immediate upgrade over Renfroe at the plate. The Red Sox right fielder is batting .259/.296/.462 this season. Those are better numbers than most in his five prior seasons in baseball, so it’s not like Boston can expect much more from the 29-year-old.

Judge, on the other hand, is a two-time All-Star and former MVP candidate. The only thing holding him back from contending for those kinds of honors again are injuries.

Boston already ranks among the best offenses this season, with 4.93 runs per game. Judge would have them contending for elite status.
