1. Jamison Crowder

As the Jets added wide receiver reinforcements this offseason (Corey Davis, Elijah Moore), Crowder has been bumped down the pecking order. Even before that, as the team looked to get younger and reset under new head coach Robert Saleh, Crowder was easy to see as a potential cap casualty.

Crowder has remained a Jet into offseason work. However, he has not been present as he works out “some stuff” with his contract. That “stuff”, of course, is the team trying to get him to take a pay cut. He’s due to make $10 million this year, but as is obvious at this point in the offseason the Jets also don’t want to cut him outright. Depending on what a significant pay cut means to the Jets, Crowder may have a hard time getting that amount on the open market right now.

After a pretty good 2019 (78 catches for 833 yards and six touchdowns), Crowder had 59 catches for 699 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games last season. In the first four games of 2020, he had 29 receptions on 46 targets with three straight 100-yard games to start the season.

Crowder has never become a star, but he has at least 59 receptions in five of six NFL seasons and he’s a very good slot receiver. The Jets are surely open to trading him, as the apparent pay cut impasse continues, and Green Bay could give them a Day 3 draft pick. There’s an easy match here for the Jets and Packers. Gutekunst only has to make a call to or take a call from Jets GM Joe Douglas to get it done.
