2. San Antonio Spurs

At No. 2 on our list are the San Antonio Spurs. For Gregg Popovich, the season was all about development, as the usual Western Conference powerhouse finished in 10th place of the standings and missed out on the playoffs. Popovich missing out on the postseason is something that no one will ever get used to.

Enter Oubre? This past season, the 6-foot-7, 203-pounder averaged 15.4 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest for Golden State. He did suffer his serious wrist injury in his shooting hand, but he’s expected to be at 100 percent once the new season arrives. With his high-flying abilities and great scoring, Oubre could be just what the Spurs need this offseason, especially as DeMar DeRozan and Rudy Gay head for free agency.

Adding Oubre would immediately improve the roster. Seeing “Tsunami Papi” make plays on the hardwood with Dejounte Murray and the other young studs on the team would be great to see. While it wouldn’t put San Antonio in the NBA Finals conversation, it’d sure have them in a strong position to get back to the playoffs next spring.
