Los Angeles Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani is on a ridiculous run in the last week, with six home runs at the plate and a win on the mound.

Shohei Ohtani keeps raising the bar for baseball excellence.

Over the last six days, Ohtani has had arguably the best week in baseball history.

On Sunday, he blasted a 414-foot home run to give the Los Angeles Angels a chance against the Detroit Tigers. It was his sixth in the last six games.

Dan Treacy of AllSportsNews pointed out the amazing run of form for the unicorn of a player.

Shohei Ohtani’s last six days have been incredible

It started on Tuesday in a loss to the Oakland Athletics. Ohtani hit a 429-foot home run in the top of the eight.

On Wednesday, he banged one 435 feet in the second inning, though LA went on to blow their 4-0 lead in an 8-4 loss.

Thursday was all about Ohtani, the pitcher. He pitched six innings, striking out five and giving up just one run as the Angels won 7-5.

The following night he hit two home runs to lead his team to a second victory over the Tigers.

On Saturday, the Detroit series stayed in the Angels’ favor with an 8-3 win featuring yet another Ohtani home run in the third.

Sunday’s home run was Ohtani’s 23rd of the season, tying him with Vladimir Guerrero Jr for the most this year. He’d had his way with the Tigers pitching staff so thoroughly that they walked him in the 10th.

Ohtani is on a three-game home run streak.

For the record, Ken Griffey, Jr had eight consecutive home run games for the Mariners in 1993. So that was a pretty good week for him.

What Ohtani continues to accomplish as a batter and pitcher is unique, though. He’ll get a shot to continue the good times on Tuesday against the Giants at home.
