3 Oklahoma City Thunder players who won’t be back next season
By Scott Rogust
1. Al Horford
This was an obvious choice long before the offseason arrived, and now it’s officially a done deal. Last week, the Thunder traded Al Horford, along with Moses Brown and a 2023 second-round pick to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Kemba Walker, the 16th overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft and a 2025 second-round selection.
Horford joined the Thunder this past offseason after he was traded from the 76ers just one year into his four-year, $109 million contract in exchange for Danny Green. The veteran big man only played in 28 regular-season games before being shut down for the remainder of the season so the team could give their younger players some significant playing time.
Through those 28 contests, Horford averaged 14.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 45 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from the 3-point line.
Horford is already a former member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, as he reunites with the Celtics with two more seasons remaining on his current contract.
