Texas vs. Virginia live stream: Watch College World Series elimination game
It’s crunch time for Texas and Virginia in the College World Series. Here’s how to watch the elimination game between the Longhorns and Cavaliers.
It’s win or go home in the College World Series on Thursday.
The Texas Longhorns and Virginia Cavaliers have both won one game and lost one game in Omaha. Neither can afford another loss. So expect Thursday’s matchup between the two to ramp up the competition.
The Longhorns faced elimination on Tuesday when they took on Tennessee. They rode an impressive pitching performance from freshman reliever Tanner Witt to outpace the Volunteers and keep their CWS hopes alive.
The Cavaliers had a fairytale start to their CWS appearance. Catcher Logan Michaels hit his first home run of the season in front of his dad, a pancreatic cancer survivor, on Father’s Day. They ran away with a 6-0 victory.
Both teams ran into the Mississippi State Bulldogs on their way to this point. The Longhorns fell in Game 1, 1-2, to the Bulldogs. It was Virginia’s turn on Tuesday. The Cavaliers had a no-hitter going into the eighth inning, but it all fell apart as the Bulldogs exploded for six runs. The game ended 6-5 in favor of Mississippi State.
