Super welterweight Carlos Adames made quick work of Alexis Salazar with a leaping left hook that dropped and stopped Salazar in round 3.
Carlos Adames came into his June 26 super welterweight matchup with Alexis Salazar with a high knockout rating. He improved upon it with a TKO stoppage of Salazar in round 3.
Adames fought Salazar on the undercard of Showtime’s Gervonta Davis vs. Mario Barrios pay-per-view boxing event. The fight was put together late after Julian Williams vs. Brian Mendoza was canceled due to an injury suffered by Williams.
Adames and Salazar took the time slot on pay-per-view television, but only Adames finished the fight on his feet.

Carlos Adames improves to 20-1 with a round 3 TKO of Alexis Salazar
Adames was roughing up Salazar in the first couple of rounds, but he closed the show in round 3.
As the round was coming to a close, Adames sprung forward with a looping left hook that connected to Salazar’s chin. Salazar got to his feet but couldn’t stand straight. The fight was called, giving Adames the round 3 TKO.
The highlight stoppage will help propel Adames further up the super welterweight rankings.
