Milwaukee Brewers star Christian Yelich gifted a child a signed bat after the fan made an impressive catch during a game.

Christian Yelich is a good guy, as one young Pirates fan can attest to.

On Saturday, Yelich took time out during the Brewers game in Pittsburgh to sign a bat for an opposing fan.

The child drew the attention of the cameras when he made an awesome catch during Thursday night’s battle at PNC Park. He was back on Friday looking to get Yelich to autograph the ball. He got a bit more than that.

The fan’s name also happens to be Christian.

That’s such an awesome gesture from Yelich, who had already given the kid a high five after the catch. He didn’t have to go above and beyond to make his day with an autographed bat, but he did.

The Brewers can afford to spread the love given their excellent form at the moment. They have won 10 games in a row and looked well on their way to No. 11 on Saturday with a 7-1 lead going into the seventh inning.

Yelich scored three runs himself on Saturday. He went 1-of-1 with three walks in the first six innings. He scored one run in Milwaukee’s 7-2 victory on Friday and another on Thursday against the Pirates. After spending much of the start of the season dealing with a back issue, it’s good to see the former NL MVP back thriving at the ballpark.

While the Brewers are rolling, the Pirates are moving in the opposite direction. They’ve lost five in a row and sit firmly at the bottom of the NL Central standings. Milwaukee is 20 games ahead of them.
