Freddie Freeman gifts young girl his batting gloves after she was hit by foul ball (Video)
Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman gifted his batting gloves to a young girl who had been hit by a foul ball that ricocheted into the crowd.
It’s been a good week for young fans at PNC Park picking up cool mementos from star players.
A few days ago, Christian Yelich of the Brewers gave a signed bat to a young boy who made an impressive catch over the left field wall.
Then on Tuesday, Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman went out of his way to give his batting gloves to another young fan.
This one had a scary experience when a foul ball ricocheted into the crowd and struck her. Freeman came over and offered the gloves while giving the girl a pat on the back and a low five.
It was the perfect way to turn something potentially traumatic into a heartwarming moment and surely an awesome memory for the family.

The game against the Pirates didn’t go exactly as Freeman and the Braves would have hoped. Atlanta’s Tyler Matzek walked Bryan Reynolds to bring in Rodolfo Castro as the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. A walk-off walk is definitely not the way any team wants to lose.
Freeman went 0-for-4 with a strikeout.
Atlanta is now in danger of being swept by Pittsburgh. They were routed in the first game of the series, 11-1, before Tuesday’s narrow walk-off loss. The series will conclude on Wednesday before the Braves finish off the first half of the season and go into the All-Star break with a three-game stretch against the Marlins.
The good news for Freeman is he just picked up his fifth All-Star nod at 31 years old. This season he is batting .272/.381/.479 with 17 home runs, second-best behind Ronald Acuña Jr. among Braves.
