After missing his penalty kick, social media users are leaving racist comments on England midfielder Bukayo Saka’s Instagram.

England was oh so close to winning their first UEFA European Championship after taking an early 1-0 lead in the first two minutes of the Finals. However, Italy tied things up in the second half and ultimately won on penalty kicks.

All of the players on the England national team should be commended for their performance throughout the tournament. Unfortunately for19-year-old midfielder Bukayo Saka, there are Instagram users spamming his account with racist comments.

Saka was put in a high-pressure situation in what was the decisive kick with England down 3-2 in penalties. The midfielder’s shot was blocked by goaltender Gianluigi Donnarumma to clinch the win for Italy.

It is disgusting that individuals hidden behind keyboards are using such hateful language just because the team they were cheering for did not win. Saka is 19-years-old and does not deserve to be dealing with racist language on his Instagram account. Be better, people.
