British Open 2021 sleeper No. 2: Harris English (+7000)

After looking like a quickly ascending player on the PGA Tour early in the 2020-21 season, Harris English seemingly dropped off the map. DFS players started to fade him because, to put it plainly, he wasn’t performing well and wasn’t playing all that much. As it turns out, the reason for that was a back injury that it took him some time to recover from.

Suffice it to say, however, that English has looked back in form and has been producing well as a result. He’s been in the top 15 in four of his last five starts but, more impressively, reeled off two big-time finishes with an outright third at the U.S. Open one week before winning the Travelers. He’s been back to flushing the ball with his irons and playing extremely good golf.

If there’s one area I worry about with English at Royal St. George’s it’s the fact that I’m not sure he’s necessarily the Cameron Smith or Jordan Spieth type that are at their best when they have to be creative and think their way around a golf course. With that said, the shots that he’ll be asked to hit are in his bag. And with him also having one of the best putting seasons of his career and improving around the green, it’s hard to not think this is a strong, strong number for him.
