1. Kyle Hendricks

For our last selection, we’re actually going to mix things up a bit here and switch from a reliever to a starting hurler. The depth has been a bit shaky due to injury concerns across the board. Earlier this week, general manager James Click said the team could look to trade for a starter before the deadline.

With the Chicago Cubs getting ready to potentially be aggressive in making trades, veteran hurler Kyle Hendricks sure would be an intriguing option for the team. Hendricks has plenty of experience winning games in pressure situations, especially in the fall.

Hendricks would literally be a home-run addition, as he’s 12-4 this season and holds a 3.65 ERA. Despite the Cubs being so inconsistent this year, Hendricks really has been a great bright spot for the team and their fans.

At the same time, the Cubs may look to send him out of town in return for a nice package of prospects. If Houston is serious about winning another World Series – after doing so in 2017 – lt’ll need pitching help, no doubt. Going after relievers should be the priority, but adding Hendricks to the roster would be total gold too.
