3 teams that would make Davante Adams happier than Green Bay

New Orleans Saints

One of the most frustrating things about the Packers offense is their unwillingness to spend a high draft pick or other assets to add another top-tier receiving weapon to the mix. It’s been Adams carrying the receiving corps with a squad of largely interchangeable figures.

Adams is the focus of every defense he plays. How great could he be if he landed on a team with another star receiver taking the pressure off?

That’s where the Saints come in. In the short term, a trade to bring in Adams could be a bold idea. Michael Thomas is an All-Pro, but he’s also going to miss the start of the 2021 season after undergoing ankle surgery. Adams would step in to lead the offense until Thomas’ return. Then, the two could dominate together.

Is that a particularly realistic scenario? Nope. Adams would likely cost more on the trading block than New Orleans can afford. As a free agent in 2022, his cost might also be too steep, but it would still be worth a look at the Saints if a better fit is what he’s looking for.
