The Patriots have been one of the most active teams in free agency in 2021. They could make a splash in 2022 by making a run at Davante Adams. But why wait? If a trade for Adams could get done, New England has the space and the assets to do it.

The Packers won’t want to let Adams go for nothing. Adams seems to want a change of scenery and the Patriots could give him that. Sticking around to catch passes from Jordan Love doesn’t sound particularly appealing.

Moreover, New England needs a top-tier wide receiver to help rookie quarterback Mac Jones along. Drafting N’Keal Harry didn’t work out. They don’t have Tom Brady running the show anymore, making every wide receiver interchangeable. It may be time to pay big money to add one of the best in the business.

If all Adams wants is to go somewhere willing to pay his worth, the Patriots could be it. If he wants to compete in the playoffs, Bill Belichick and company are on the same page.
